100 years of Remembrance of World War 1
This year marks 100 years remembrance services all around the country of World war 1
To Mark the occasion Bromyard are joining its community groups together to make over 3000 poppies from empty bottles of pop to line Bromyard bypass. Residents at Whitegates have been participating in this venture working alongside a group of ladies from the Royal British Legion.
On Tuesday 10th July, Maureen Gray, Bob Badham and Stan Adams were interviewed by BBC Hereford and Worcester and have featured in a Facebook news article. They have also been on the local radio with Maureen using her teaching skills to explain a step to step guide of how to assemble the poppies. Bob and Stan took time to share their memories of being in the RAF during world war 1. Staff and Royal British Legion members were blown away at the professionalism and confidence of these individuals during interviews. We are also proud to say we will be heading up the poppy parade though Bromyard town on the 15th of September.
